We will keep this page updated with information as it becomes available.

Update @ 9:02am CDT: The network issue at The Planet appears to be resolved and our infrastructure is now accessible. If you are still experiencing an outage, please get in touch with us ASAP.

DNS outage at ISP today

Our ISP experienced a DNS infrastructure outage today, from approximately 12pm-2:15pm Central, which resulted in numerous issues for ourselves and our clients. At this time, all DNS services should be restored and all systems should be accessible.

Customers whose domains use ns1/ns2.ev1servers.net (ns1/ns2.theplanet.com) for authoritative DNS were affected, since DNS queries to those domains were not resolvable. Seeing as we eat our own dog food and use these DNS servers for our own domains, our website and our support contacts were also offline.

We apologize for today’s outage, and we know certainly know how it impacts your businesses to be offline. Please let us know if you are still experiencing any issues and we’ll be happy to help.

DDoS attack on DNS

Our ISP has been experiencing intermittent DDoS attacks against their DNS infrastructure, which has resulted in DNS resolution failures. Unfortunately this seems to be a widespread issue, affecting multiple ISPs and DNS providers across the web.

Service appears to be back to normal at this time, but we will continue monitoring the situation and will keep this status blog updated. Thanks, and sorry!

System Normal

All Stottsan systems are functioning normally.
